The Purge: Anarchy (2014)

The second installation of the Purge franchise is actually a great B flick. I wasn’t expecting much out of a movie about a U.S. holiday in which the entire population is allowed to kill each other without any legal consequences. But if you take an absurd premise and make it real, adding some capable actors, minimal characterization and great action, you get a very good B movie like this one. And you don’t have to see the first installment to understand or enjoy this movie. I haven’t seen the first “Purge,” which reportedly isn’t as good as this one anyway.
