Wise Film Choices

Forget the main characters; Lego Batman is the real star in this animated parody about a Lego construction worker who stumbles into a Lego epic battle against brick-built forces of evil. In a weird way, this cynical, frustrated Batman seems closer to the true spirit of the Dark Knight than most of the on-screen portrayals of the Caped Crusader, and that’s what makes him so funny. The rest of the movie is engaging enough; it’s very entertaining but not very memorable, like a string of good jokes that provide laughs at the time but that you forget the next day.
