Run (2020)

Review Date: 2020

Concept: Crazy mother vs. wheelchair-bound daughter.
-
- Suspenseful, effective thriller. Nothing more, nothing less.
- Well written, directed, produced, and acted.
- Somewhat derivative, similar to “The Act” series (also a Hulu original), which was based on a real-life crazy mother vs. wheelchair-bound daughter. But “The Act” went way too dark and graphic, so much so that I had to stop watching that series; “Run” is much more palatable and entertaining.
- Excellent cinematic direction, carried extremely well by the two actors.
- The grandmommy of this genre is “Whatever Happened to Baby Jane,” crazy sister vs. wheelchair-bound sister. Nothing beats that one, but “Run” is a fine modern thriller.
- Viewed on an Optoma HD28DSE projector, 92” screen, Roku on Hulu. Looked great on the projector.
- Not for kids.
