A cynically gleeful movie about an unhappily-married couple hosting a get-together at a haunted house to see who survives the night. Vincent Price is at his best as the husband, continually spewing zingers dripping with sarcasm. A very dark comedy disguised as a horror movie, this one is a fun, low-budget classic directed by William Castle. His gimmick for this movie was called “Emergo,” which consisted of pulling a plastic skeleton across the movie theater at the same time that a skeleton appeared during the movie. Even without the flying bones, it’s still a fun movie.
