This movie will test your tolerance for shock. “13 Sins” has some extremely offensive profanity at the beginning and over-the-top violence throughout. But if you can stomach it, you’ll be able to enjoy a modern-day parable about a down-and-out office worker tempted to cross the line between right and wrong by a mysterious game. The quality of the movie outweighs the controversial elements, which make sense given the context. “13 Sins” tells us a lot about our own behavior without getting too negative or nihilistic (almost does). There’s a deep lesson beneath all the horror in this film. But skip it if you don’t have a strong stomach.
